Ivonne Penuela, M.A., CCC-SLP
Ivonne is a native Spanish speaker originally from Bogota, Colombia. She received her Master’s Degree in Communication Disorders from NMSU. At NMSU she participated in the Bilingual Program and has 12 graduate credits of specialized training in bilingual assessment and intervention. She has been a Bilingual Speech-Language Pathologist since 2016. She began working with the Bilingual Interventions team as a Clinical Fellow and decided to stay once she received her Certificate of Clinical Competency from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. Her experience includes working with bilingual Spanish-English pediatric, adolescents, and adult populations. One of her many interests is providing services to clients with fluency disorders. She possesses certifications in The Lee Silverman Voice Treatment (LSVT) for both adult and pediatric populations. She is passionate about providing high-quality patient care through the best available evidence-based practices and regularly participates in continuing education to expand her knowledge and skills.
